charming spot near historic sites and lovely scenery
I really enjoyed my stay at this charming spot, as it's just a few steps from the majestic Fortrose Cathedral and less than a 5-minute stroll to the scenic Chanonry Point, where you can catch stunning views of the Moray Firth and hopefully spot some dolphins!

The decor was filled with quirky pieces.
On arrival, the reception area felt uninviting and dirty. The room was dark, small, and had unclean furnishings. Breakfast was disappointing, with undercooked porridge and unfriendly service for a simple request.

The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. The dogs are treated like royalty here, with their own reserved spots at dinner. We enjoyed the delicious food, especially the breakfast, and the whisky selection was impressive too. Loved the vibrant bar with traditional music and a great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Couples looking for a unique experience
The staff were amazing, really friendly. , We had a wonderful night in the busy and super friendly bar,, enjoying traditional music from locals and visitors. , Made our stay even more memorable. And of course, our dog, Dave, had his own reserved spot at dinner and breakfast, which was such a nice touch!
It wasn’t inexpensive, but still acceptable for what we experienced.

I stayed in a Deluxe Double Room for a night. The room was really neat and tidy, with a vintage touch that matched the charming vibe of the hotel. The bed was super comfy, perfect for a good night’s sleep. The shower had amazing pressure, which I loved! The only downside was it was a bit dark. But overall, it felt cozy and inviting.

It was just a decent option for a temporary stay in Fortrose with good value for money. The bar served up a nice selection of local beers, which was a surprise and made the stay enjoyable. If you’re sensitive to noise, choose a room away from the bar.
