charming spot near historic sites and lovely scenery
I really enjoyed my stay at this charming spot, as it's just a few steps from the majestic Fortrose Cathedral and less than a 5-minute stroll to the scenic Chanonry Point, where you can catch fine views of the Moray Firth and hopefully spot some dolphins!

Fortrose vibes and friendly faces 🌊🐶
The staff here are just the best, super friendly and proper cute. Had a lekker brekkie, and the bar area was such a cool spot to chill with a dop. Our dog even had a special spot at the table, such a nice touch!
The only hiccup was the place looked a bit rough from the outside, but don't let that fool you!

The decor was filled with quirky pieces.
On arrival, the reception area felt uninviting and dirty. The room was dark, small, and had unclean furnishings. Breakfast was disappointing, with undercooked porridge and unfriendly service for a simple request.

The staff were super friendly. The dogs are treated like royalty here, with their own reserved spots at dinner. We enjoyed the delicious food, especially the breakfast, and the whisky selection was excellent too. Loved the vibrant bar with traditional music and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

It wasn't cheap but acceptable for the experience we got.

I stayed in a Twin Room and it was super cool! The decor was vintage and matched the historic vibe of the building. Everything was really nothing messy. The beds were comfy, and the shower had great pressure. I loved all the quirky moments around the hotel. It felt homey. Just enjoying a drink at the bar and chatting with Jim and the team made it all worthwhile!

The bar served up a nice selection of local beers, a surprise and made the stay enjoyable. If you're sensitive to noise, choose a room away from the bar.
